The streetscape for the Pico Garnier Block Renovation Strengthens the historic districts distinct identity by including granite and porphyry paving, recalling the porphyry aggregate used in the original pueblo.

Interpretive paving uses traditional chinese elemements to recall the thriving history of chinatown, while the paving also incorporates the original trolley tracks that crossed the area.
